Our Stories of God's Amazing Grace...
God's Grace in Herb's Life...
I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home. My parents put a priority on church attendance and consequently I was exposed to the gospel as a young boy. Even though I was young, I understood I was a sinner both by nature and by choice and thus deserving of God's judgment. However, I also learned of the good news that God sent His Son into the world to die in place of sinners like me. So, as a boy of 5 years old, under the guidance of my mother, I confessed to God that I was sinner and in need of His salvation. I believed by faith that what Jesus accomplished on the cross was done for me, and as a result, God's wrath against me was removed, I was adopted into His family and I became his child! My father thought it would be wise to wait until I was a little older to be baptized, so I was baptized at the age of 9 at Fundamental Baptist Church. I returned to Fundamental Baptist Church to be the pastor in 2001.
My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:28
God's Grace in Janet's Life
I grew up in a Christian home. I had the privilege of attending a Bible believing church and a Christian school. A special part of my childhood was attending summer Bible camp. When I was 14 years old, I attended summer camp and after hearing preaching was convicted of my need of the Savior. I spoke with the camp director, but did not trust Christ at that time. During the next week, my mother shared the Gospel with me in our home. For the first time, I realized that “God so loved Janet that He sent His only begotten Son.” I knelt by my bedside and trusted Christ as my Savior that day. A few months later I was baptized at First Baptist Church in Newfoundland. I began to serve the Lord in a variety of ministries such as Junior Church, AWANA, choir and as a camp counselor. I have enjoyed the last 17 ½ years of serving alongside my husband and I have grown in my spiritual walk as I have ministered to both women and children. I am looking forward to new ministry opportunities as we move to South Africa.
My favorite Bible verse is I Corinthians 15:58.
God's Grace in Caleb's Life...
During the summer when I was 6 years old, I attended “Neighbourhood Bible Time” at our church. After one of the messages, I realized that I did not want to go to hell, so I went out and spoke to a counsellor. That night, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and I trusted Him as my Saviour. I was baptized when I was 11 years old. Both my brother Jared and I were baptized by my Dad at Fundamental Baptist Church. I began serving the Lord in our church. I enjoy working with the children and singing in the choir. Last summer, I worked as a Junior Counsellor at Windcrest Bible camp, and in January 2017, during a trip to visit the mission field in South Africa, I worked as a counselor at the Garden Route Youth Camp. It was a great experience.
My favourite verse is Philippians 4:13.
God's Grace in Jared's Life...
When I was five years old, I heard a salvation message at church on a Sunday night. When I got home, I spoke to my Mom and asked her to pray with me so that I could be saved. I prayed and was saved that night. When I was 9 years old, I shared my testimony with the church family at Fundamental Baptist Church and was baptized the next Sunday. In 2014 at Windcrest Bible Camp, I rededicated my life to Christ. I enjoy serving the Lord by working with young children at church and by going to Youth Group.
My favorite Bible verses are Matthew 22:37-40.
God's Grace in Megan's Life...
I got saved when I was 8 years old. I was in my bedroom with my little brother Noah. Noah had already become a Christian and he encouraged me to get saved. Noah and I went to get Dad and I prayed and asked Jesus to forgive my sins because I knew that I was a sinner and that I needed Jesus in my life. I got baptized at Fundamental Baptist Church when I was 10 years old. I wanted to show others that I was a Christian and I also wanted to serve the Lord in my local church. Now I am 12 years old and I attend Youth Group. I enjoy working with the little children in the nursery during church services and at “Mom and Me.”
My favorite Bible verse is John 3:16.
God's Grace in Noah's Life
When I was five year old, the Herbster Evangelistic team came to our church. I attended the children’s club every day of the week. The leader, Josh, was reading through “Pilgrim’s Progress.” As he read, I realized that I was a sinner and needed my burden of sin taken off my back, just like Christian. Romans 6:23 told me that “…the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.” John 3:16 told me that whoever believes in God shall not perish, but will have everlasting life. After Josh finished his story for that night, he told us that anyone who wasn’t saved and wanted to get saved should raise their hand in the air and come out of the room to talk to someone. I raised my hand quietly and waited for someone to come. Josh came and we talked about what it means to be saved. He asked me if I had ever prayed that Jesus would come into my heart and wash away my sins. I said, “No.” We read through some verses together and then I told him that I wanted to pray and he said, “Go ahead.” I prayed and asked Jesus to wash away my sins and to make my heart whiter than snow because I didn’t want to go to hell and I knew that I was a sinner. After that, I felt like a new boy.
My favorite Bible verse is Revelation 22:21
